¶ BODONI BOLD, No.175 was drawn by Dave Farey as an ancillary bold for Lanston's Bodoni No.175. Not enough is known of the internal workings and expertise of Dave Farey. I can attest to the fact that the line quality of Farey's art work is unequalled. His pencil on paper drawings were the most perfect work I have ever had the joy of working with.
Farey drew the bold in exchange for a special Monotype casting and setting in several languages for ATPi, Parma, Italy.
Both the roman and the small caps have French oldstyle figures as well as the lining figures.
French figures are unusual and lining figures with the small caps are also unusual.
Dave Farey is a very respected London type designer. He worked at Letraset with Colin Brignal and today, I believe, Dave Farey is working with the London Times Newspaper.
