Book Arts Events
Part of the International Edible Book Festival Description: The International Edible Book Festival is a yearly event
held on or around April 1 throughout the world .This event unites
bibliophiles, book artists and food lovers to celebrate
the ingestion of culture and its fulfilling nourishment.
Participants create edible books that are exhibited,
documented then consumed. April 1st is also the perfect
day to eat your words and play with them.
April 1st is chosen to commemorate the birthday of French
gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillat-Savarin (1755 - 1826),
famous for his book "Physiologie du goût".
This is our second annual event, last year was such a
success we decided it needed to be an annual event here in
Buffalo as well.
This year we will be judging in three categories: Professional Amateur Junior (For participants under 16) Please specify which category you are entering in on your registration form. Celebrity judges to be announced. All Edible Books should be delivered between 2–4 pm April 1, 2011, to the WNY Book Arts Center, Register your entry - due by March 29th at noon.
