The (16pt on 18pt body) metal version of Stern was shipped from Pie Tree foundry in Vancouver, BC. It was cast to order by Jim Rimmer using foundry metal.

The response to the metal version of Stern was overwhelming. Jim Rimmer passed away in Jan 2010. The Stern Matrices are now in the collection of the CC Stern Foundry in Portland. The future possiblity of ordering Stern would be by inquiring directy to CC Stern Foundry.

The limited edition 16 page Stern specimen booklet was printed by legendary printers, Coach House Press in Toronto. The black & white photos by Anna Prior are printed in warm grey & black duotone with silver highlights in the specimen portions that accent the feel of the type & tools used to make Stern. A bound in letterpress specimen was also printed at Coach House on Japanese rice paper and a single metal letter is included in a small envelope on the inside front flap, 5" x 7".
