William Caslon was an 18th century type designer. The William Caslon Experience is an accomplished musical duo who create unique, lush electronic downtempo landscapes. The William Caslon Experience have released 4 full length CDs and have had tracks remixed by DJ luminaries: The Herbaliser & Fila Brazillia. The Thievery Corporation have called their sound "some kind of cross between Medeski, Martin and Wood, Stereolab and Tortoise." The P22 record label has teamed up with FLT5 records to compile some of our favorite tracks of The William Caslon Experience onto a new CD. This CD contains a brand new remix by Odiorne in addition to a brand new "remixed" Caslon font. The exclusive font can ONLY be purchased by getting this CD.

The special CD "discfolio" packaging has been hand printed in three colors by letterpress designer Bruce Licher of Independent Project Press. Each CD is numbered and comes with a fold out broadside liner notes sheet/ poster.

40th anniversary re-issue of Rod McKuen's 1963 LP. Released for the first time ever on CD in an exclusive arrangement with the Stanyan Music group. Comes with bonus tracks plus the exclusive P22 Stanyan Eros alpha-picture font on CD. The font features only CAPITAL letters and, in place of a lower case, there are 26 illustrations. The lettering and illustrations are based on artwork from various McKuen books.$19.95

Odiorne was established when former Mercury Rev drummer / songwriter Jimy Chambers exited a fugue and found himself wondering the shores of New England. He returned to his native home in Buffalo and assembled a band to record the account of his experience. Recording and producing the EP was Dave Fridmann whose credits include; Mercury Rev, the Flaming Lips, Luna, Beth Orton and Weezer. ‘Want Them Leaving More’ debuted in Spain (Summer 2001) where Odiorne found itself supporting Mercury Rev later in the year.

The songs on ‘Want Them Leaving More’ not only glimmer on the surface but also twist and turn while pulling the listener in deeper. The intricate arrangements are clear and concise with a sound best described as universal. Stark vocal passages are bridged with time changes and horn and organ-driven orchestrations. “Silent Treatment” gives a nod to electronica and “Morningstar” to post punk. “Middleman” features a rippling, neo-psychedelic rhythm and the multi-textured, timeless “Caravel” has tinges of indie rock but like the rest of the EP is in its own niche.
Audiences have referred to the live Odiorne performance as a sound that is truly stand-alone. Relative of Mercury Rev, Spiritualized, Echo and the Bunnymen, Flaming Lips, Robert Wyatt and the Stranglers.
