Goudy Handtooled and its Italic were designed in 1922. They are inline versions of Goudy Oldstyle Bold & Bold Italic. There are conflicting attributions as to the designer of this Goudy variant. Some credit the design to Charles A. Becker and others to Morris Fuller Benton & Wadsworth A. Parker. Swash caps and terminals were added by Sol Hess. The new Lanston releases include all variants of this design.
