COBBLESTONE PRESS, EDITOR
I LANSTON TYPE COMPANY I GERALD GIAMPA I
¶ MARTIN JENSEN, Cobblestone Press's poetry editor. In this picture he was working as one of the pressman for Northland Letterpress. He did not work for me in the Lanston Type Company days.
Martin Jensen was multi-talented, certainly gifted in languages, writing stunningly beautiful poetry. Read poetry better than anyone I had ever heard. Robin Blaser said, 'I never heard my poetry sounding so good'. And spoke many languages including dialects of Chinese. He had potential as an actor and today probably uses his skills in his job as a lawyer.
Martin Jensen worked with Giampa for approximately ten years. Both he and his brother Karl were friends of mine when I was operating this shop in Lynn Valley. Most of Martins work however was at this shop in Cambie Street when he was responsible as poetry editor. Martin was also a partner in the business.
In this picture Martin has just found an open bottle of Dr. McGillicuddy's Peach Schnapps. He suspects someone of the crew has been nipping during working hours.
